Day Tour to Tivoli Visiting Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este from Civitavecchia port
If you've already visited the beautiful city of Rome, and want to plan a day trip with a difference while in Civitavecchia, you may want to consider a day tour to the medieval city of Tivoli, visiting the Roman Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este, a Renaissance gem with the most lovely gardens.
This memorable tour is by private transport and gives you an added Italian experience, with visits to two UNESCO World Heritage sites.
You can sit back and relax, while gazing at the Italian scenery, during the two hour journey to Tivoli by private transport. Your driver will be native to this district so can answer any of your questions and tell you a little about the countryside through which you travel. Tivoli is an ancient hillside town with a long history, dating back to Roman times. Your driver will first take you to visit the Villa Adriana, situated on the Tiburtine Hills. The villa was built for the Emperor Hadrian and your 90 minute tour looks at some of its architectural highlights. Afterwards you can enjoy a long and leisurely lunch, we suggest the Sibilla restaurant for its breathtaking views and historic ruined temple. Once you've eaten your meal the driver takes you to the Villa d'Este where you will have approximately an hour to explore this medieval treasure and its hauntingly beautiful gardens. Tickets for the visits to Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este are included in the price of your trip, but the private guide for both these attractions is an optional extra that you need to arrange at the time of booking.
