Tuscany is one of the most beautiful regions of Italy and is renowned for its cultural influences as the birthplace of the Renaissance. This tour of Tuscany with visits to Siena and San Gimignano is a perfect choice for people who may have already visited the historic city of Florence. You'll have opportunities to admire the fascinating Tuscan landscapes and some of the lovely towns and villages in the area, with plenty of chances to take photographs en route. Your day trip begins with a 90 minute journey through the mountainous and scenic Tuscany countryside to your first destination, San Gimignano. This pretty walled town is situated at the top of a hill, giving lovely views of the surrounding countryside. You'll spend an hour exploring the town and could take a drive around its highlights prior to taking a short stroll to look at the pretty piazzas and perhaps enjoy sipping a glass of the locally-produced wine in one of many pavement cafes. When your driver picks you up you will be transferred to the ancient city of Siena, the journey takes around an hour. Your visit to the city lasts around three hours, giving you ample opportunity to tour the city by car and then perhaps take time to visit the ancient cathedral or some of the historic churches nearby. Many superb works of Renaissance art can be found within these places of worship, while the architecture of some churches dates back to the 12th century. Your English speaking driver will be at your disposal throughout the day to answer any questions you may pose or to advise on the best places to visit or eat. The return journey from Siena to the Port of Livorno takes approximately two hours and your driver will ensure you have ample opportunities to appreciate the varied scenery en route.

He will be holding a board that’s printed with your name so you’ll spot him easily. You can expect to be taken on the most scenic routes through the Tuscany landscape and your driver will regale you with some of its interesting history.
